s14 Intake swap engine light on CODE 12

I have a 97 240sx and i put an intake and a cone filter on it last week. The check engine light came on, but the car continued to run just fine. It has good ldle, and still averages 25+ mpg. I wet to reset the computer today to get rid of the check engine light, and the computer told me it was a code 12, which i was told is for the Mass Air Flow Sensor... Even after I reset the computer three times, the check engine light comes back on after a couple of minutes. Does any one else have the same problem? Does anyone else have an idea of what it could be? I dont think the MAF is bad because the car runs/ idles fine. THe nissan guy wants to charge me $90 just to tell me that it is a code 12... any help would be greatly appreciated.

do this.... straight up from the fsm

1. Check Power supply on the afm (shoudl be the battery voltage)
2. Check the ground on the afm (there should be continuity
3. Check Input Signal Circuit (third slot on the afm from the left) to ECU Terminal 16
4. Check Air Flow Meter components

basically do that in order. for the first three, if you get the wrong reading you have to repair the harness. so, if you find that the ground isn't even continuing, repair the harness.

if you get to step 4, you can either do some electrical inspection on the afm or buy a new one. if either one doesn't solve your problem, your ecu might have bad pins or the ecu harness connector is damaged.

Power Supply on the afm is the second terminal no the afm on the left side.

hopw this helped you out somewhat....
