Question rb25 noise help

Hey guys. I have a s13 running a rb25det s2 and I'm having an issue pinpointing this noise. Hopefully you guys may know what it could be. And I took off all the belts to see if it was the ps, water pump or alternator but the noise the remained. I also changed the tensioner and idler pulleys and the noise is still there. Check the link please to hear the noise. Thank you

Its either really bad belt squeal or almost sounds like a bad power steering pump bearing...

You can buy a stethoscope with a little rod on the end and stick it to every piece of metal, you'll find what it is after scoping around.

I was hoping it was a bad bearing on the alternator or the power steering but when I started it without any belts, it still had the same noise. Then I took the front cover off and found that the washer/cover, that's right between the crank pulley and crank timing gear, was hitting the belt and gear. So I bent it back into shape and placed it back but still the same noise continues. I also loosend the belt a bit because it did seem a little too tight. Now my queation about that is, when replacing the tensioner do you leave the tension that the spring applys or do you apply some tension beyond that with the allen key and then tighten the tensioner? (Just to be sure)

might be the idler or tensioner bearing, probably a good idea to replace both of those as well as the timing belt since god knows when it was done last.

as for installation the FSM will tell ya how to

Its actually a brand new belt and both idler and tensioner were replaced. And when I replaced them, the bearing still felt smooth

Spray it with belt dressing and see if it stops. My belt squeals on the alternator pulley.

Mine also, only when cold. It's so annoying but belt dressing only works for so long :/ but does work.

Alrighty guys so I found out the hard way that my belt is hitting the bottom cover. What can I do to fix this? And what I see that happened is that my timing belt is sliding foward. It doesn't stay in place... has this happened to anyone??

You said timing belt? There should be a large washer/spacer piece between the timing belt gear and cover to keep that from happening.

Yup it has it but with it on it still makes noise and when I took the the bottom cover off you see that it has the rubber build up on it and the washer (the one that suppose to hold the belt in place) is shinny from the scrapping apperently. I post some picture
