rarity of 240sx from drifting

Am I the only person who looks at drifting as a cool sport, but feels a bit of disgust from the destruction of cars from drifting. I figure in a few years that there will be fewer 240sx's than some of the more rare cars. As a car enthusiast. I do not think the 240sx is the best car ever made or denying the fact that thousands have been made compared to other cars. But how many have been totaled up and hacked up just to have parts swapped to a new shell after a bad mishap on the track. I think that in the next 5-6 years it will be a rare car or highly sought after due to the number that are being totaled out and cut up. Japan, I think is the worst when it comes to car destruction from what I am seeing. It is almost like this generation of people proudly flog ripping bumpers off and zip tying panels on as if it is the next cool thing to have (battle scars) on the car and parts missing. I do not feel this is cool. Just wondering if I am the only one that has thoughts about this sort of stuff.

Don't worry. My Skyline will be more rare than the 240sx.
My Skyline is set up to grip the road firmly with love and execution.
If ever the rear tires slip instantly the power will be transferred to the revolving wheel and implement maximum gription.

Have you ever skinned your knee? My Skyline will make you forget about the pain.

My Skyline number one okay!

This is kinda why we have the "Doing it wrong" threads now.

People are retarded. Drifting is "hip". Bandwagon blah blah hoonibroswaggots.

I just call people on their shit now. "Dude its drift damage" no, your car is a shit pile and you're too lazy or poor or both to fix it.

All of this being said is drifting summed up. Japan is the godfather of drifting and their doing it right. I personally love the whole sport of drifting, real drifters will understand the zip ties holding the bumpers on and battle scars. It's all about the love and fun of the sport! But seriously what's the big deal about 240s getting beat? If you have a clean one good for you the price of your car will continue to go up!

The beat ones will be passed around between the idiots that don't know how to fix anything or they're broke while the clean ones will stay clean because they're going to be sold back and forth between people who have money and know how to fix things. hell by the time a clean s13 5 grand you can add 3 more to it and have a just as clean hundred percent stock 180 shipped over here Through gtr garage

I'm going to be rash...to clear up...drifting is not about crashing into a wall for the hell of it. DRIFTING NEVER, been about crashing, tapping or any of that shit. Drifting is about controlling what seems to be uncontrollable. Not blowing your fender back to kingdom fucking come, or purposely ramming the fuck out of the drifter in front of you and make some crude ass joke (usually sexual) about it. These dumbfucks (my generation) took the "art" out of drifting and more or less it's about getting hard and feeling the "feels" when you make full frontal or rear contact with "the wall".

My AE86 was descended from the heavens by the great Hachiman. My AE86 is was created to float around corners, evolve with the road in pure harmonious grace. It's like...a dove, who soars into the light. It's like a dolphin, who circumnavigate the seas from pure instinct. A tiger who instantly feels the blood running in it's prey.

You step into my AE86, you will know the purpose of yourself, this world, this universe and the existence of life.

I challenge you, my AE86...your Skyline. Obee. Let's see...who truly is...number one.

No, real drifters use quick fixes to get through the day because who the fuck wants to spend 30 minutes properly fitting a bumper at the track. Zip ties and "battle scars" are a reality but should be fixed during down time.

The big deal about cars getting beat is the attitude you just presented. More people with this attitude = more fucked chassis. Period. I don't care how much you "love" the sport. There are a finite about of 80's 90's rwd cars and guess what, they aren't making more anytime soon.

Have some fucking pride in what you drive, Jeeeesus.

I have much more pride going to the track and doing what I love more than anything else, rather than have a supper clean car that sits in a garage it's whole life. Yes of course the car should be fixed on down time, but drifters make the most out of their body kits and will continue to zip tie them until they are scrap. After you've completely wrecked a body kit and over flares from drifting, you save and buy a whole new kit... Then so on and so on

This is just my perspective on drifting, as I'm sure many other drifters have the same. It's pretty hard to completely wreck a car to the point of no return!

For anyone that wants to watch some awesome Japanese drifting

If you wreck and beat your car at the track, thats cool dude.. i think the problem lies with people who intentionally think it looks cool.. and than there are the people who make their cars look like shit (randomly placed stickers, randomly painted wheels (pink, green etc)).

When i got into S chassis, they wheren't missile cars, and the ones that where tracked, didn't look like shit

Feel free to study a tape from 2001 and take notes.

Cant wait for the swaggot, zip tied, stickered up, intentional POS 240sx trend to be over with. Make room for some REAL builds of people properly restoring their cars. 240sx will be a rarity soon enough. I know s14s are where I live. Few and far between.

Your challenge to my face will be accept on the point of condition number pronto. Have you the gaul to irradicate your pink hued paper of the ownership of the hachi roku in possesion of your sir name, then surely Mt. Akina will be the meeting place of acceptance of honor defense in the fourth night of the adjacent week today proportionally. My Skyline will be submitting the idle of engine purring on the road side conveniently awaiting opposition. No words required to engage save the dropping of female clothing article to the pavement (preferred article pantaloons or bloomers) to incite the tire smoke and subsequent victory of My Skyline.

My Skyline stands alone.
Your opportunity for victory is assuredly none.
But friends share beverage and handshake after Your Hachi Roku is transferred to my surname.

So basically you're saying that no one with a clean, nice S chassis actually drifts and you need to have a shitty beat up car to be a true drifter.

You belong in the doing it wrong thread

See that's when you trip. All you guys are tripping. How often do you see anyone drifting like a complete boss without having battle scars? DK's cars aren't beat because he focuses on high speed drifting, instead of trying to wall ride. This thread should be in the "doing it wrong thread." Quit hating!

I agree completely man. Don't get me wrong I enjoy kicking the back end out occasionally and sliding around a bit in a parking lot but I can't stand the multi color, half destroyed "drift cars" especially when they're not even drift cars they're kids daily drivers. I've had many people tell me my car has been the cleanest they've ever seen and I strive to keep it like that. I changed up my front end, bought a body kit and overfenders and once those are installed paint will be the first thing after that, none of this miss-matched color, "baller status because I've got a widebody and a kit" shit.

This can all be solved by doubling or tripling the cost of drift events. Then all the welfare drifters will not be able to participate anymore.

You guys are all a bunch of f-ing whiners get over your selves if you don't like the way poor or lazy people use or abuse their cars then maybe you rich pro active dicks should buy them all up and put them in a garage for you and your friends to come admire from the other side of a velvet rope. I will continue to enjoy my car for what it is. A fun, old, high Mileage, rear wheel drive Toy. Don't like it? Go f ur self.

Hostile words there sir. You sound butt hurt. It also looks as if you joined the forum just to comment in this thread. You should be booted. I like your idea though. Maybe people who truly care should buy them all up. I do think the higher cost of events will deff weed them out at least to an extent. Unfortunatley any motorsport will naturally cause some sort of damage. However, that doesn't yield an excuse to keep it a pos at the end of the season or in down time. The problem is that they are affordable for "first cars" most of which are 16-18y/o and do terrible things because its "cool" and are used as dailys/missles.
