painted carbon fiber hood s13 pop up
I'm picking up an oem style carbon fiber hood before I get some body paint work done. I am likely just going to end up getting the hood painted body colour but I am interested in seeing idea's/styles to paint the hood but show some of the carbon fiber in a clean way. It seems a shame to cover it all up.
Found this picture of a nsx with google. Thinking along the lines of something like this. Thoughts? https://images.search.yahoo.com/imag...hspart=mozilla |

why not paint a cool picture on your hood?
it is very popular with 240sx owners these days. ![]() ![]() looks great! or you could also go for the ubiquitous rusty hood look: ![]()

For cereal though... If you absolutely need to leave some CF exposed to make you feel like your investment was worth it, just leave the underside bare carbon, but paint everything that you'd see with the hood closed when driving down the street. Then every time your car breaks down, you can remember, hey... at least I've got a cool CF hood.

^something like that haha
Seriously though, it depends on the look you're going for with the car. If its going to be relatively stock looking/low key just paint it body color. If you're planning on aggressive aero you might want to consider a vented hood and paint everything but the vents. At the end of the day its up to you, but consider this, could you spend that money better elsewhere? An OEM style carbon hood? Is it really worth it? Do whatever you think you'll be happiest with man, its your car, don't build it for anyone but yourself! |

No my areo is not aggressive. My current hood is buckled and looks like shit, I would rather invest in getting a carbon hood painted then bother picking up a used hood.
Like I said I was already planning to paint it, leaving the inside bare is an idea as long as the paint won't peal, but I hoping see some different looks. I've been thinking about pick up a carbon rear spoiler so I was thinking I could tie it in by showing some of the carbon up front. |
