flex pipes

So were would be a good spot to install a flex pipe? I was think in the downpipe would be best, just before the first exhaust hanger. Of course this means you have to have a custom DP made..

Are any of you guys using flex pipes? If so, where? any pics?

yes, on the downpipe, basically as close to the head as possible. On KAs, right at the end of the exhaust manifold (header) if you got one. Will truly save your header or manifold from rattling itself loose. This was a flaw in the design of the 240 exhausts.

You guys who have pillow ride suspension and baby your cars needn't worry about this.

That's where I was thinking would be the best spot...as it's the cheapest part of the exhaust (can't really count the cat) and will be effected by vibration first. The closer to the engine the better I would think.
Or if your not running a cat you could just replace it with a flex pipe section.

I think I'm gonna wait until I get a new exhaust before I do anything since my current exhaust is all hacked up! Although, the thing shakes like crazy when it idles....hmmmm
