1995 s14 obd2..ish?

I recently got a '95 s14 and the check engine light was on. I know that obd2 wasn't in all cars till 1996 however some 1995 cars like mine have an obd2 port and have a very basic version. I'm looking for an obd2 scanner that will work well with this basic version; if anyone has any experience or recommendations that'd be great.

I've tried. I've got the same thing and the OBD2 port is basically dead . Car was bone stock when I bought it 6 months ago! Hasn't been molested either.
