Project power reduction / weight addition...
Well, I thought I could share my latest progress on my project "Get car back on the road before winter"...
I picked up a used S13 SR20DET, '93 edition... Don't know the mileage, but I do know that it had great compression and no metal shavings in the pan. I change the front and rear main seals, changed the thermostat, swapped over my parts and I am almost done. I have a few pics: As you can see, I have my intake, cas, and hotpipe to put back on... I have fluids to fill, tranny, engine, power steering and radiator... But all is good for the moment. The reason now for the title. My T28 died with the engine. So I had money to spare to buy another T28, but I decided to add 150 pounds to my car instead and keep the T25. Here is why: It's an Autopower 6-pt rollcage bolt-in with cross bar, harness bar, custom welded dash bar and double driver side bar. I decided to get it... 400C$ is cheap, and it will get the job done for time trials, lapping. I will, however, get rid of the dash bar... But the rest will stay. So, 50whp less, but added security. I think it's a good thing, don't you?
