Issues converting to non abs s14

Hi

My abs unit was not working. I couldn't find any where to rebuild the abs and the master cylinder was already leaking so I thought I would remove the abs and upgrade to a z32 master cylinder. I got a new hfm non abs z32 master cylinder and replaced all the brake lines. Plumbed it up as non abs using all three ports on the master cylinder. The car also has the 4 pot front and 2 pot rear calipers.

Even after bench bleeding a few times, many many hours work and several litres of brake fluid I could not get brake pressure so I assumed it was air trapped somewhere.

Brought it to a local mechanic who works on the odd track and rally car to get out pressure bleed. He has now phoned to say they couldn't get pressure and after his own research online onto the master cylinder says I should now block off one of the front ports on the master cylinder and put a t piece on the other to split between the front calipers as the master cylinder can't build up enough pressure.

Surely that can't be right. The standard master cylinder which is a lot smaller could build up the pressure so surely much larger z32 one will easily do it.
