In Japan, Nissan is one of the most popular cars to modify. In the US, we get a weak KA24, but we still have the same chassis. After watcing a couple hundred drift videos, many of the S13s had "sleepy" half open headlights. What do you cut, hack, and saw to make the lights do that?
Also I was wondering if it was possible to do a half-ass drift with a KA24.

I drifted my STOCK 89 240sx.  It's not that hard with the KA24.  I didn't even have to pull the handbrake much, just stomp on the gas.  But I broke my rear sway bar  <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

I'm all for the sleepy eyes! Everyone I know hates it, but I love it. It's beautifulllllll... on the latest issue of Drift Tengoku (Drift Heaven) the cover car is an S15 w/ 180sx nose:  the first I've ever seen, and BEAUTIFULLLLL!! It's got the sleepy eye look, and man, is that thing pretty.

on that same issue they show you how to hook up your "sleepy" eyes so that you can turn your headlights on while having the sleepy look!
Ill give it a try one of these day,cause the way i have it , i cant have my lights on while my car's sleepy!

for the sleepy eye look...try to find my no budget version version in a thread somewhere...try searching for it...i'd explain it for you but i'm lazy..remember "search" is your friend...

they talked about this on the Rx7club forums alot.  what we had to do was pretty easy.  locate the fuse for the headlight motors, ok?  pull it.  turn you head lights on, and tap the fuse in and pull it out right away so they pop up just half way...  then u just leave the fuse out, and turn the lights on and it works.  is it that easy for the 240?  ill find out friday when i get mine... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

dude , you can buy a thing for like 80 bucks that does it for you(because the headlights pop up really fast and i wouldn't wanna pull the fuse out)or thee is a kind of oval thing on thew side by the motor , just take that piece out and then put it back on with a 90 degree turn to it so it is on perpendicular to the way it was before

You can pretty much make almost Any RWD car drift somewhat with practice and a proper setup...just some are better set for it.
Also, yeah, the halfheadlight thing on an s13 is cooooool

because we don't all have the funds to!  $80 may not be much in a $3000 car purchase, but it adds up. Why spend 80 bucks when you can do it for free?

yea, im in school too, id rather pull a fuse than pay someone 80 bucks for something i can do free...  thats just me though...

just pull out your head light fuse... then crank them up manually to where you want them i think you might have to adjust your headlights.... but the only thing is they stay like that they dont go up or down until either you put the fuse back in or you use your high beams.... but you can still turn your lights on and off..

Tisk tisk...just adjust the headlight motors manually, via a small knob to the inside (torwards center of car) of each headlight. They are right at the front, under the hood. Of couse when you turn on the headlights, they will pop all the way up, then all the way back down when you turn them off. But, here is a very simple way to get them to stay "sleepy" (coutesy of 240sx.org's FAQs):

Follow these steps in order:
1. Make sure headlamps are off and in the "closed" position.
2. Get down on your back and look up through the large opening in the lower front bumper.
3. Look directly under the left and right headlamps and find their electronic plugs.
4. Now while you are down there, you can reach through the large opening and unplug the electronic plugs left and right.
5. Now get off the ground and pop your hood. You should see a headlamp motor next to each of the headlamps. Looks like a single prong.
6. Pull the cap off each headlamp motor. Now you may manually adjust the headlamp angle at any variable by turning the knob. Make sure that both headlamp motors are evenly adjusted.
7. Now turn your headlamps in the "on" position. Notice the motors dont move and the headlamps simply light up. Viola, instant "sleepy look."
**Now in order to get the headlamps in its original position you have to manually adjust the headlamps in the "closed" position via the motor. Then plug the wiring back together.
**It is recommended to have auxilary lighting for driving when doing this at night. (i.e foglamps drivinglamps, etc.)
