Another dumb vlsd question

Will an VLSD from an s14 with ABS bolt into s14, non abs, open diff without new output shafts?

All jokes aside, I really don't know.

All the VLSD tech installs say you need output shafts but theyre swapping in an J30 VLSD. The Zilvia install says you will have the correct output shafts if the lsd is from a 240 but then i get answers from people like you telling me I need new output shafts.

So with an VLSD from an s14 (with abs and vlsd of course), I will still need the output shafts from a vlsd s14 to put into my open diff s14 240?

Yes, you need VLSD output shafts...they can be from a '95-96 J30 diff, or an S13/S14 VLSD.

Open diff shafts WILL NOT WORK.

You must use VLSD specific output shafts.

The Zilvia install says that probably b/c if you get a VBLSD form a 240SX, they typically come with output shafts already in the diff.

"So with a VLSD form an s14...", you will have all the parts you need to put that into your S14. As long as it comes as a complete diff...

Hmm...funny, cuz i bought a VLSD from venus and it bolt rite up onto my non-abs non-lsd SE. Its off a JDM s14. Only thing that i did was I used the drive shaft that i got with it cuz the one I had was off. *cant remember if it was shorter or longer...shorter iirc*

I put in an S14/J30 (w/ abs sensor) into my base S13 (non ABS/LSD) and all I switched was the differential cover and got some ES bushings/longer bolts for it. Everything else was fine.

1) Didn't need to swap driveshafts -- my S13 was shorter than the S14 I received (said 95 240sx on it) and the length was negated by the fact that my S13 differential cover was shorter than the S14/J30 one.

2) Also, no problems with the output shafts either. Everything bolted up together with no problems (It was a 96+ J30 LSD with 6-bolt pattern).

I've only had the VLSD for a few months and I have not had any problems driving the car... except for the gear ratio (3.92 vs my stock 4.08 but its very neglible and I could care less)

How about you keep asking the same question in every LSD thread and maybe you'll get an answer.
Or you could follow any of the links provided and find out on your own, without the need to have it spoonfed to you.

So you paid $200 for a diff and a bunch of useless shit that won't work on your car.
Please post pics of the hubs and driveshaft installed, I'd love a good laugh, especially when you realize the driveshaft from a J30 is over eight inches longer.
