Tein HE question
I have not had alot of time to mess with them, but I was talking with a friend and he told me that the HE's are not ment to SLAM the car Infact they were only ment for Drift settings. Now I knew that the He's were ment drifting,so my question is How low can you go with these without messing with the spring rate or the Ideal settings for drifting (or how low can I set them without the car riding like shit)

"the car riding like shit" is debatable. That all depends on your personal preference. Some people like a super stiff ride, others dont and so on. My HE's are pretty low and i'm planning on going lower and imo the car rides fine. I have friends that have bottomed out the perches on their HE's (ie. the lowest you can possibly go) and they dont have any complaints. Just gotta mess with them man, and see what you like. Try running a search on here for Tein HE's, there's plenty of guys on here with them. See what you can come up with. Good luck.

Because the lower perch is adjustable, you can *slam* the car, and still retain full suspension travel (it doesn't limit the stroke, like coilovers where you compress the spring to lower the car)...this doesn;t mean the wheel won;t hit the wheel well, or whatever else comes with a really low setup...but the coilovers can probably do -3 to -3.5" or so, no problem.

What are these drift settings you speak of? is there a drift knob on the coilover? I dunno how the HE is meant for drifting...any adjustable suspension can be used for drifting and be set for grip or drift type of driving, even those sleeve overs
anyhow.... its all subjective. 0 preload is for the best ride quality and full stroke. I dont like my car riding super stiff (aka riding like shit). When things ride super stiff, the tire usually skips on small surface irregularities and bumps and doesnt get as much controllable traction as it would on a more conservative setting. make sure your height settings are pretty balanced when you're done adjusting them

I love them stiff some days depending on the weather. I love them on track days just to be able to adjust them to get what I need ie oversteer or some understeer.
