I searched and didn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I'm lookin at picking up a local car. What would a stock S14 T28 boost to with no boost control of any sorts? The ecu was replaced with a nismo unit and the car doesn't have a boost gauge. I'm worried the thing is boost spiking to who-the-hell-knows-what.

I know it's an internally gated turbo, but can't remember if the actuator acts by itself or needs some sort of outside control from like an MBC, elec. unit or the ecu.

Oh, and what do you guys think of nismo ecu's? The removed rev limiter and fuel cut makes me a bit apprehensive. Can it be remapped to have a fuel cut or some other aftermarket rev limiter for some more peace of mind? Is there a way to check the engine for any overrevving damage?
