car feels slow, redtop sr with only 19k miles!?

10lbs stock clutch, im thinking i need to run some fuel system cleaner

its timing is also 20degrees

whats the most potent fuel system cleaner?

seein as how it has 19,000 MILES i dont think compression would be low.. also there are no boost leaks

19K miles would not seem enough to congest your fuel setup. Have you done a compression test? Check the basics like plugs and other dumb stuff like that?

20 degrees would be retarded. Could be your clutch. You said its slipping a little that means your not getting the power you should be getting to the ground.

slow = what exactly?
slower than normal?
slower than you thought your mods would have made u at the track?
slower than your friend's civic?
What's your definition of slower? You're not giving us anything to help you with other than the fact that your timing is way off.

Higher number = more advanced...as long as we're talking BTDC, which we are.

Stock SR is 15 BTDC

Having it 5 degrees advanced for a turbo motor is too much...

More timing would typically make it faster, but not if you're getting a little knock.

As the others here said...set the timng properly (with the TPS UNPLUGGED!!!, idle @ ~700rpm) and see how it feels.

Running that much timing, you could have screwed your rings already. Do a compression test and you might find why your car is running slow.

im not really sure if this would help much but unless your car came from a clip that had the original guage cluster on it and showed only 19k miles, you have to make sure. 19k seems pretty low for a redtop motor. im not saying you dont have a low milage SR, but honsetly in japan, people still keep their cars just becasue it still works. hopefully the motor came from a reputable seller. alot of people say things to sell the motor because its so popular now. most engines from clips ive seen are pass the 50k mark. with that said, make sure everything in your car is straight. pay someone to check out everything. i thought i knew what i was doing till i had somebody check it out. turns out the turbo had play on it and some valves were pucked up. but hey! my timing was good!

Check to see if there's any mani-to-turbo gaskets that are leaking.. you should be able to hear it, but you might of missed it if your exhaust is loud. This would cause a noticeable decrease in the response of the turbo.

the motor was from a front clip that was wrecked, it was stock as ever, it was wrecked a month before the air filter had been replaced, the air fitler was brand new HKS and it had the mileage 27,000KM on it however there was no gauge cluster, but the motor looks like it has 19k

ill change timing on saturday
