Replacing Clutch Hardline w/ SS?
I am in the middle of doing my auto to manual swap. I just bought the car with all the parts and the previous owner said that he had gotten a special fitting to use with SS line. So its basically one big SS line from the clutch MC to the tranny, replacing the dampner, hardline and rubber line. My question is this really I good thing? I know replacing the rubber line w/ ss line is good because ss expands less than rubber, but wouldnt it be better to use the stock lines? I figure there would be more over all expansion in the SS clutch line than with the rubber and hardline. Thanks guys

TakaMotorsports sells a full replacement line, I don't think it's a really bad idea, depends heavily on the clutch/pressure plate you're using though.

while ss coverd teflon lines expand signifigantly less than rubber I think there would still be more deflection in the ss line than a hardline not to mention if it was not attached solidly to the firewall it could end up getting cut or damaged running behind the motor

How much more deflection in the ss line do you think there would be, too much? It doesnt seem like its something popular that people are doing so I bet overall the ss line expands more that the stock set up. I would replace the rubber with ss, but I cant spend anymore $ on the car. I'll be using a Fidanza Flywheel w/ and ACT street clutch.

why bother with all that?
get a hardline from a dealer for $10-20 (i forgot how much) and buy a $20 stainless line from Taka or such.

That would be the best set up, but I cant spend any more money on the car. I already have the stock dampner, rubber and hardlines. The car also came with a SS lines with the fittings that replaces all of that. So I am just not sure which option to go with.

you cant spend 20 dollars? you can make more than that getting rid of the long line of SS on ebay
