update - problem after 5 speed swap.. clutch lines?
finally finished the tranny swap this weekend. test drove the car for about 20 min, everything was just fine. went out to eat, got back in the car about an hour later, threw it in first and as soon as i was easing out the clutch i hear GRRRRRRIIIIINDDDDD....... so i push the clutch back in, and its still grinding but a little less. so i throw it out of gear and it goes away. got the car home, re-bled the clutch lines. car was fine for about a day and a half, then started doing it again. i noticed the car was leaking brake fluid, from the slave and the clutch line connector under the car. just wondering if its just losing pressure in the system to push the clutch arm all the way and that causign the grinding? i'm planning on getting rid of the stock clutch damper since i heard it traps air. any suggestions to what the problem might be, besides the lines not holding pressure? also, any tips on tightening the clutch line fittings so they dont leak?
thanks in advance! Last edited by pacefarm; 05-18-2005 at 06:26 AM.. |
