the 80's jdm style

Does anyone have pictures of modified jdm cars from the 80s/early 90s? I mean like pictures from old option mags and whatnot. I am looking for any pictures (or vidoes) of modified cars in japan during the 80s/early 90s. I'm just interested in seeing what was in style back then.

That's not really 80s and 90s style... That's boro-style.

Back in the early to mid 90s (don't know 80s), the popular look was mostly stock actually. Body kits and stuff weren't that big a thing. Factory aero maybe, lowered with some wheels and exhaust. Even the Veilside kits were really tame.

Some of those VIP cars are sick as hell. I wish it went back to the days of stock instead of over exagerated bawdy kits and stuff, they aren't so bad on 240's right now but with the growing popularity of them and the three special letters "J-D-M" cars are going to be ruined.

I like most of the cars posted in this thread. Nice subtle body mods. I wish they still sold some of this stuff. Not everyone wants huge gaudy kouki-style kits.

I agree completely.. small diameter wheels, subtle to no body kits and slammed (for the most part)

well I know back in the late 70's early 80's the hot deal with Fairlady Z's aka 240Z's which actually stayed the same body from 1970 to 1978 was to put Ken Mary Skyline round tails on cause the panel fit almost perfectly in place of the stock Fairlady tail panel. hehehhehehhe and later you would see guys putting Oneline tails aka modded R32 tails on the 180sx till the kouki model came out. History repeats itself, hahahhaha.
They also stuck G noses on, which came off the Fairlady ZG. It was actually a quite rare car, that came out in 1970, specifically setup for Japanese racing with factory fender flares , G nose front end ( looks like a Ferrari Daytona front end) short tail rear spoiler, S20 engine, that also came in the 1972 Skyline GTR, ( 2 liter 6 cylinder, twin cam, triple solex engine putting out 175HP at 7500 rpm). With a 5 spead gearbox and clutch pack R180 limited slip differential, 500 of these babies were made. Have fun even trying to find one today even in Japan.

Well since our s13 240s came out in 89. You really cant show much of a JDM style. Lets bring out the oldies 240z 280z and 300zx. Or a Cefiro or somethin!!

I couldn't find any good 80's style modded cars. Here's an S12 Silvia/Gazelle/200SX though:

This isn't 80's style, but it's the cleanest looking S12 I've seen. Found it on someone's Cardomain (not sure where they found it)
