Fuel gauge stuck at 1/2 tank

did a search...came up empty handed. I just wanna know where to start to fix this problem.

fuel meter is stuck at 1/2 tank. Ive filled the tank up completely...still wont budge.. just sorta happened outta the blue.

is the floater stuck? gauge tweakin out? some sensor tweakin?

btw my low fuel light still works.

please send me in the right direction before i start smacking my gauge with a hammer

On mine and a friends car we pulled the fuel pump out and removed the metal flapper inside the tank. The problem was solved after that.

Mine seems to be offset. It's like 1/8 tank under "F" when full and goes 1/8 tank under "E" when almost empty. Weird.

Check fuel sending unit and gauge. If its the gauge, I'll have one for sale.
