flywheel removal without impact gun

Any other methods or trick for removing the flywheel bolts without using an air impact gun?

it'll snap in half unless its a super beefy screw driver

but yes, take a pry bar and jam it in between the teeth

use a big breaker bar on the bolts

Brace the crank pulley with the proper socket and a breaker bar against the frame rail.

Flywheel Turning Tool. But that up against something on the car then use a breaker bar for the bolts. That or what Russ said.

go to sears and get a long breaker bar ( about 2-3 feet long). use one of the clutch bolt ( bolt that you use to tighten the pressure plate to the flywheel) and screw it onto the flywheel, then use a long bolt from the transmission and screw it into the place where the transmission meets the engine (areound the 10 o'clock positon). Then spin the flywheel and wedge the breaker bar between the 2 bolt. the flywheel should stay put, you can then use another breaker bar and open the fly wheel bolts. I've done this many times and it works great. Sorry, i can't find the right words to explain it clearly. I hope that helps.

I broke them loose with a big breaker bar. The engine never turned over.

Lightbulb Call a buddy

Tools needed:
One friend (buddy), 27mm socket, 1/2 drive 19mm socket, breaker bar, and 1/2 drive ratchet, and the pipe.

- Put the 27mm socket on the breaker bar and have your buddy hold it on the main crank pulley bolt. (breaker bar should be long enough that he can hold it up in the engine bay)
- You, yourself take the 19mm socket on the ratchet and use that (with the bar for leverage) to loosen the flywheel bolts.

Your buddy holding the main crank pulley will stop the engine (and flywheel of course) from turning, with a little froce (the longer the pipe the easier it is) you should be able the crack all the bolts
