Removing ABS

Hey everyone. My friend needs a new master cylinder and calipers (mc leaks, caliper froze up), but has ABS. I have a non-ABS parts car. So, rather than him buying from the dealership/parts people, we think bypassing ABS is the way to go.
I just don't know exactly what's required to do. I'm thinking remove the ABS box, replace all the hardlines, and the calipers. Is this correct/incorrect? Any downsides to removing ABS? He lives in Michigan, and I personally stop a car faster without ABS using threshold braking than the ABS does. And.. when sliding in snow, the ABS never locks up.. it keeps modulating, which slows the car down more slowly. So don't tell me ABS rocks please. I'm looking for mechanical or electrical reasons that removing the box and replacing lines/calipers/master cylinder will/won't work.
