I can't get the stock one on my S13FB to unscrew.  Is there some sort of trick to getting this thing off?  The stock leather covered one is cutting up my hands and I hate the way it feels.  Any help is appreciated!

Joe

well, looks like you got the LOCK-UP type leather shift knob.  you are basically stuck with the shift knob, there's only 1 way to take the LOCK-UP type leather shift knob off.  bite on it, and suck on it with all your might.  than, MAYBE it will come off.  other than that, you can saw it off at the bottom of the shiftknob, than u instantly get a short shifter...

j/k &nbsp;i don't have a leather one, but check for bolts, i'm pretty sure there isn't one. &nbsp;just turn really hard, because there's glue n stuff from the factory to make it stick really tight. &nbsp;remeber turn COUNTER-CLOCKWISE, sometimes it gets confusing... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Mine was real hard to get off too in my s14.
What I did was wrap it in cloth and clamp down on it with a Vise-grip and twist.
It came right off that way.

I had the leather shift knob on my S13 FB I just got a really really big set of pliers/grips and wrenched the bastard off. &nbsp; If you don't car about the knob just rip it off.

Nothing a little muscle won't fix.
