S14 Zenki Origin Aero = JDM Bumper Support?

I tried putting on my Aggressive aero front bumper, but the shit doesn't fit. It seems like the USDM bumper support is too wide/big for it to fit properly. For everyone with Origin aero, did you have to get a JDM bumper support, or did you modify your USDM somehow?

If worst comes to worse, NO bumper support will work.

i dont have Origin but i have Uras. i have no bumper support, and it fits fine.

u dont need a jdm bumepr support to make it fit fine. u can modify/cut ur usdm one if u feel u need it, but i see no point because its cut up so it wont hold the same as it would normally

No bumper support it is. Oh, and since you have Uras, are the sides of the front bumper supposed to line up flush with the fender?

Ben Schwartz's S14 with Origin Aero

Maybe it's a Kouki only thing? But see, Ben Shwartz's front bumper lines up with his fender, but he also has overfenders. I read somewhere that Uras/Version III/Aggressive only lines up with over fenders?

the reason it doesn't sit flush is because the original, I think BN Sports, was designed to fit along with wider fenders, IIRC

lets just make it aware, the big metal bar that saves your car is called a bumper reinforcement.
the thin metal strip that actually holds your bumper up is called the bumper support.
get it, it's supporting the bumper?

Actually, it's called a bumper retainer, because it retains the bumper. But that's Nissan's words, not mine.
But I agree that the correct terminology should be used so people know what others are talking about.

And to answer the question I think that most aftermarket JDM bumper covers or replica covers require the use of the JDM reinforcement since it's considerably smaller.

We forgive you. I could have gone technical and called it the 'bumper upper retainer' and really laid smack, but then we've have kids asking if there was a lower one somewhere too. And that wouldn't be good.

Is there a lower one somewhere, too? Hahaha.

Thanks guys. Fuck it, no reinforcement. I mean, no bumper upper retainer.

1) Reinforcment.
2) Upper retainer.

"Boss" (luckinator), you mean the reinforcment. The retainer can be left in with nearly any bumper cover. Without your grille would fit very well either.

So cut yours, use a JDM piece, or throw it away. Just remember that without it the cover will sag a little unless it's fitted to the fenders with extra hardware.

And this is getting silly.

yea luckinator, you can CUT IT with a cutting wheel, or plasma cutter. cut where the holes for the stock signal lights are, left and right, about halfway, not more tho, you still want SOME reinforcement for the corners. I cut mine once I got my aero.

For the rear bumper would it just drop it or also require cutting?Haven't gotten there yet..
I'm hacking away at my front bumper reinforcement with a angle grinder tommorow|resorted to rotozip 2day I basically lined up the new bumper onto the stock bumper reinforcement, grabbed a marker and marked what need to be cut for bumper lights/bumper section to clear then added .5" more to be safe for clearance.

Rear should fit without cutting, but if it's required go for it, just make sure to leave as much as you can. Our cars aren't very strong in the rear floorpan area so you need all the buffer you can get in an accident.
