Pics of the KA powered Mighty Midget...
Well, here goes...
Some of the specs for the car: Engine...Stock KA from a 90 hardbody P/U Tranny...Stock from same Rear end...Stock from same, although I've had a little trouble identifying exactly which one it is, so far I think it's a c200 I've got an intake, plenum and throttle body from a 90 240. The P/U throttle body pointed straight up, so I would have had an air cleaner sticking through the hood about 6 inches or so. It has a home made cai (PVC water pipe to be exact) but that is temporary till I get the turbo installed. The radiator is a four row aluminum Nascar style, so far even in the central valley heat it's never gotten above 220 degrees, and I don't even have the fan installed yet. The header is custom made by myself (unfortunately there is a distinct lack of kits for a KA powered Midget) as is the exhaust pipe. Exaust pipe is Nascar inspired as well, since there wasn't enough room under the car to run a 2.5 inch pipe, I fabricated my own , the pipe is 1 inch tall and 6 inches wide and works awesome. The seats are from an '04 Cavalier, I tried to put some racing buckets in it, but the shoulder bolsters were too wide. I'm in the process of making an aluminum dash for it with a complete set of auto meter phantom guages. As you can see from the pics, the car needs a lot of work still. I bought an english wheel few weeks ago and made a panel beater bag so I can make new fenders for the back (again, seems no one makes kits for this particular installation) In case anyone's wondering, the hood scoop isn't there for looks, the valve cover actually sticks up through the hood about 2 inches, also, before anyone starts looking at all the different body parts, there are parts from about 5 different cars here ranging from 63 to 79, like I said, I've still got a lot of work to do on it. I've had this car running for about a year now, and it works great, I drive it about 50 miles round trip to work every day and it hasn't given me a single problem. And incredibly enough also, even though I've had just about every branch of law enforcement behind me at some point or other, I still haven't been pulled over.
