Alright so I've got a 92 s13 hatchback, and the motor blew on it. I have the shell sitting in front of my house while I'm workin on the engine. The other day I heard this crunch sound, I thought it was the garbage truck, but then my cell phone rings and my buddy up the street was like, "dude you gotta come outside quick some truck just ran into your car!" so I go out front and theres this beater white pickup w/ the tailgate down crunched up against the front of my car!it knocked over all our trash cans and sandwiched them in between the 2 cars. Whoever parked the truck left it in neutral w/o the ebrake on. These 2 mexicans come over and their all "what happened?" I was like, is that your truck? and they go "shit" and started to move it b4 I could get any good pictures. Neither one of them would tell me their name, and they didn't have a driver's license. I asked the guy who was driving for his driver's license # and he was all "uh, license? no have it here, at home maybe?" So they get me on the phone w/ their boss, they got all freaked and and called him when I said I was gonna call the police, and the guy says he doesn't wanna go through insurance, that he'd just cut us a check for w/e the damage was. Well we got an estimate it was like $1,450, and he said that was too much and said to just go through his insurance. That wouldve been fine except now the f***er is saying some kids pushed the truck, that HE was driving, and that he dropped the truck off there and was the next street over. That is such bullshit, when we talked to him on the phone he was in his office, and my buddy actually saw the truck roll into my car! This guy's not payin up, but I want my freakin car fixed! Also since I have no names for the actual drivers, it's almost like they were never there as far as the US law is concerned. I'm all for immigration, legally, but when people come into this country illegally and f*** up, theres no way to track them down it's not fair! anywho now idk what to do I think I'm gonna go file a police report, but any advice you guys have got would be appreciated.

yeh I got the license, that's not the point. He's gonna deny the insurance claim b/c he said some kids pushed the car.

no i love my car, the boss just made it sound like he had no problem cutting us a check for it. I was planning on using the money on the engine anyway, im more concerned with how it drives than how it looks. the damages were pretty superficial

ok, i know plenty of mexicans who are perfectly legal, but these guys wouldnt give me any name but their boss's and they didn't have a driver's license with them, they were doing yard work, and could hardly speak english. they also got really freaked when i mentioned calling the police. is there any other conclusion?

it turns out, i may saound weird but in the state of cali. it really does not matter who is driving the car because the registered owner is the one resposiable for any damaged caused my his or her car. call your insurance company and as them. I know because i wrecked my freinds bike, and the insurance company for the car i hit wanted my friend to pay not me.

I was in a very simlar situation where the lady behind me rear ended me, after the accident she made up this bullshit about how i cut her off so she would get the heat.

I filed a police report, they didn't do shit b/c its basically my werd vs hers.

So i went to their insurance company and contacted them about the incident.

My insurance company and her worked suthing out where they would pay for half the damages. even though she didn't admit fault they still reenburst me for half.

get there full name and insurance company and bitch out to their insurance company and they will HAVE to do somthing.

GOOD LUCK!

if that does not work, call immagration, or kill em what evers better.
