ok, i welded up some motor mounts today. the pics look like crap because i took them about 2 seconds after liberally dousing them with flat black spray paint.

I basically welded them right to the frame rails of the car. There is a relatively large backing plate of 1/4" mild steel solid welded to the frame rail, then gussets made of 1/4" and 7ga mild steel holding the motor.

Compared to the stock mounts, this would probably hold a bridge.

Back Driver. (you can see the backing plate in this pic)

Those "motor mounts" are going to blow a huge donkey cock in anything other than track use.

I hope you aren't planning on ever taking that thing on a public road that has a 1% chance of seeing anything remotely considered traffic.

haha, what?

the rb is a VERY low vibration motor. plus, the mckinney mounts have very very little rubber on them and they didn't vibrate my rb26 240 AT ALL.

yeah he is right the RB is very low vibration mine dosent vibrate at all with teh tophat motormounts.

it's a hookup at a local place. reg price would have been ~400.

I didn't pick it up tonight. I think for sure tomorrow.

Quick pics. Built the lower radiator supports, but a bad call on a bleeder screw location is going to require a minor change.

The cage needs to be changed. The door bars hit the shoulder bolsters on the seats and the harness bar needs to be moved back a bit, but Vito said he will make the changes for free.

a short text update.

The cage has been fixed, both seat should fit now. That's a good thing. The car is now at the blasters. The are stripping off all the undercoating and any rust, then it's on to body work and paint. I hope to have all the body work and paint taken care of by the end of the month.

estimated at 6500 dollars. Sigh... it happens.

The lips on my work wheels on the sti got damaged at a tire place the other day. not my week.

Damn that kid. He was driving a 240 at the Bing's meet in toronto and rear ended him. Where is there 6500$ worth of damage though? I see a bumper and diffuser and some paint?
