Sorry man but you're facts are wrong.
First, Oscar is NOT a natural welterweight. (Welterweight is 147 pounds, to imply he is natural means he walks on a daily basis at 147 lbs. He is more like a natural Super Middleweight (168 lbs) He fought for undisputed Middleweight title and lost to Bernard Hopkins. (By a body punch LOL)

In contrast, Manny Pacquiao is a natural welterweight. It is safe to say that he walks around daily at 147-155.

Second, Manny is/became the current Lightweight champion when he beat David Diaz (135 lbs) he was previously the Super featherweight title holder (130 lbs). He moved up 5 lbs to beat David Diaz and he did so decisively. His next climb will be 12 lbs to Welterweight, effectively skipping Junior welterweight (140 lbs) (where Ricky Hatton owns the division)
Now Im not saying the jump isn't major because it certainly is. But the one thing Pacquiao doesn't lose in moving up is his speed. That will be a big decisive factor in the fight. If and when Pacquiao gets off first, he will win the fight. The only thing not tested is Manny's chin. With moving up in weight a persons power is drastically increased also. So look to see how Pacquaio holds up to De La Hoya's left hook. If he can take the punch, the fight is already over.

Prediction:

Pacquiao > De La Hoya TKO 9 round. (look for a knockdown by pacquaio by round 4)

Yep, sounds right to me.

The last few DeLa Hoya fights were just a glimps of how old and mature Oscar is. I mean, in the last fight he had, he was slow and Mayweather was it? that pretty much played around with oscar.

I think that Oscar has a better chance of winning the Latin Grammies than beating Manny.

It is not about race, it's about Manny is fresh and Oscar is old. This is like the Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Couture fight. Sure, like Couture and Oscar "were" good, it comes down to the fact that they cannot be "good" forever. Age is a factor and Manny is hungry.

Whoopti doo, Oscar isn't even like Mexican Mexican, he was born in East L.A. wow......and he denies his background too.

True facts but you also can't play the age card either. Benard Hopkins showed age is not a factor in his domination of Kelly Pavlik. Boxing has been so shady for years and years it's so hard to believe in some of the fights sometimes. ESPECIALLY when there is so much money involved in a high profile match like this. It's desperate for quality bouts and so they try to arrange what they could to make "dream matches".

If DLH is in the shape he says he is and fights smart and with the skill he still has his size should win the bout for him. Manny is a natural at that weight yes, but Oscar is still bigger and I too will look for him to test his chin. Regardless it'll be a good bout, hopefully a great one.

True. Oscar will have to fight smart. We all know that Manny is in his prime and Oscar in the last 5 fights was (3wins and 2 loss). He has to last all 12 rounds and get good points.

I don't think it will go that far, or Oscar can last that long with Manny.

I think that Manny is in better shape. Remember that Mayweather fight? Oscar was super slow and old, sure he had a few quick squirts but Mayweather was toying with him and the Crowd went Crazy everytime Oscar did that, but that's just people who are Oscar fans.

Like the Chicago Bulls back in the 90's, and look at them now.

Oscar is like that. Manny will knock Oscar into retirement I hope.

Hopkins vs Pavlik doesn't count in my book. Hopkins showed first hand that styles make fights. Not to mention being a smart as hell fighter. Pavlik got first hand on the job training on how to box vs Hopkins.

That's interesting. Southpaw vs. Southpaw.

The question is.....if Manny has added 5-10 lbs, would this make him slower or fight differently?

If that is the arguement and if Manny's speed and power doesn't change, then for sure Manny is the better fighter.

If for some reason, Manny loses speed, and hits softer, which I doubt, then Oscar can win.
