I don't drive roadsters, lol. So pass.
I can see why he did this swap so I cang really hate on it. Everyone has their own justification for their swaps. There may be better options on there, but this seems like the best option for him based on what he wants to do and how he wants to do it. Much respect for that. I'd like to see how this build ends up. Reminds me of that one dude who dropped a redtop in his RX8. Question though... why a redtop instead of a blacktop? |

I don't mean to discourage you but i think you just downgraded the power plant. Did you say turbo-ed S2k? If i didn't misread then turbo-ed s2k is fast as hell, only upgrade would be RB25 or 2JZGTE but redtop sr.....shrug.
Anyway, the project is already started, keep up the good work and please don't try to cut corners.

Would've been sweet to see maybe vqhr if you wanted nissan powa to be swapped in that s2k..But a sr20 will do..not knocking it
people are always gonna talk poop, either it be on the forums,at meets or on the streets(i like to say)..Good luck with the build sir!!!

Cool, this outta be something different. Dont worry about all these tool bags in here.
But one question, was the motor even re-build before the swap? Kinda find it weird you would put an older motor a century older than yours in there. |

i was looking into that and the rb costs a fortune compared to the 2JZ and the 2J weighs less so i would go that route if anything.
aside from that the sr only weighs 100 lbs more then the f20c where as the 2jz is close to 500 lbs more, i didnt want to comprimise the integrity and handling of such a nice balenced car. as for tearing everyone apart i meant on facts being thrown out about the s2000, i researched and attacked this and all my prior projects very methodically and detailed to make sure it was something i wanted to spend my money on. i apologize if i lost my cool at all and lashed out. |

it had 4.63 nismo gears in it while it still had the f20, with the intake and exhaust and heavy clutch i had to ride the shit out of the clutch to keep it from stalling from the lack of low end power.
actually to be honest after installing the exhaust i noticed no power gains up top the only thing i actually did notice was a power loss down low. and it was an expensive piece, t1r 63mm single |

if it wasnt for me loving the way my buddies s14 sr in his s13 felt i wouldnt have done this it was everything i wanted from a car.
thank you to the guys supporting it and for the critics that are expressing there opinion and not just trying to be malicious i apriciate your words. as for the steering rack, the guy at je says it just takes some getting used to but its not bad and he wouldnt change it. i may not make it to night moves cause they might be a few days longer with my car then i expected but i will be at montecello(dont go itll be embarassing and ill probably crash cause its my first event lol) |

interesting swap. not that i completely agree with it, but its definitely different and i give you props for that.
My only question is, how do you intend to pass emissions? Since that SR isint OBD friendly... |

Only SR I think I would have even considered would be a S15 Spec R with 6 speed. Outside of that you simply put dated technology in a brand new car, Just sayin bro... Cars nice and I'm sure it will be fun but I don't understand the reasoning of doing it JUST to be different. Oh and because you like fabricating things... Hell You could have simply bought a busted SR powered S-13 and kept your Honda stock. To each his own Hope this works out as you intend for it to.

So then your logic behind a brand new fancy thing being turned into a track/drift car seems sound...

why the hell would you swap in a s15 spec r with a 6 speed? That trans is beyond terrible. And a s15 sr is the same as a 14 blacktop sr with a tad bigger turbo. If you plan on running any bigger then stock turbo the s15 sr is a waste of money. ![]() |

not really, it was because it was 2004 and there was no aftermarket for the Z that did much. There is a fucking retarded amount of aftermarket for the s2k so doing this NOW for THAT reason is just stupid.
If he wants an sr let him have an sr! btw what did you do with that F20C? I have an 86 shell that would love to live again

i was thinking the exact same thing. my engine has cams thus making the VTC obsolete. and i have a top mount mani thus making anything with a T2 flange obsolete. plus a 6 speed is cool but doesnt really do a whole lot except give you another gear. unless i was gonna put a t56 in or something that has a final drive of like .7 : 1 or something really numerically low.

i wanted it to be the best of all worlds but not serious in any one specific group. the car will still be a street car. get a 240 sx isnt the answer to everything plenty of people track s2000's, they still look nice handle great and if you really want to break it down this whole hobby is illogical. if we were all logically we would have taken all the stupid amount of money and put it into a mutual fund or savings account. but were here to have fun arent we? anyone who has ever bought volk wheels or bride seats is illogical but they did the same thing i did. they wanted something nice to look at and to take pride in their machine. at the end of the day its all a bunch of metal strewn together to make something move forward. i apologize if my choice in glorified air pump put into shinny bucket with wheels on it upsets you or hurts your feelings. next time ill build a car thats "logical". maybe a smart car hybrid.
