While I don't agree with everything homeboy is saying you are being a bit of a douche and one hell of a fan boy about Nissan in general.

Well, you can't blame Nissan. Money talks. And 240's won't do the job.

Not every car in everyone's line-ups sell 100,000 units a year. Some cars are built as ways to sell other cars. The Z and GTR are pretty much just selling tools for the rest of Nissan's line-up.

i use to be very positive about the whole subject...infact i use to be one of the main sources of factual information on this site because i spent so much time making connections with people who worked at nissan...but as of late...i dont really care much anymore regarding this subject...until nissan actually comes out and officially announces something, i refuse to pay any serious attention to this subject anymore because of how back and forth it is

all i can tell you is still to this day...the man who i met and got confirmation of the S16s existance thru was VERY high up at nissan (does the word DIRECTOR mean anything to you?)...infact a few of you who have known me for a few years know exactly who i spoke with as i have confided this information to a select few on these forums

honestly though i still think nissan is going to be missing the game entirely AGAIN (like they did with the cube) when toyota releases not only its FT86, but its RWD hatchback they were talking about outside of the FT86...hondas got the CRZ and Hyundai has its game CRUSHING genesis line...im not knocking nissan or being mr "negative nancy" as most you think i am on the subject...im just pointing out that outside of the FM Chassis and VQ35de motor, nissan has really just kinda missed the ball on automotive trends in the last 10 years...and i dont see that changing anytime soon

You and I have always been on the same page.

Shoot, a day later and even I dont agree with some of the stuff I said. Ill admit i was a bit harsh on Nissan, but what I said about honda was just an example. I just feel like Nissan missed a LOT of opportunities- not only to make the 240 an EXCELLENT car instead of a decent one, but also a lot of opportunities to get their foot in a few markets that they pretty much missed the boat on. I made it sound like I dont like Nissans- which couldnt be further from the truth.. I just feel that a lot of their products have one or more things that COULD have been done differently and the end result would have been much better. I think we can all agree that we got jipped on the SR20, and I think that if the 240 came to the states with it, sales would have been exponentially higher. (well duh, right?) The point I was trying to make was not that Nissan sucks, but that a modern day 240 would have NO MARKET. The reason the 240 following is so huge is because theyre CHEAP. The people buying 240's (generally) arent in the market for a brand new car, so why would Nissan bring it back, especially when 240 sales in the states were less than impressive to begin with?

Everyone these days is either looking for an econobox, or AWD. While another 2 door RWD car on the roads would be nice to see, it just wouldnt sell in the numbers theyre hoping for, and would also be directly competing with the 370z and G37.

And while were on the subject, I think Honda has missed the ball in past years as well. The 02-05 civic.. what the fuck was that? And the new TL looks like it got hit in the face with a beer bottle. Not to mention getting rid of an excellent seller, the RSX, and that failed venture into the turbo world with the RDX. Call me a fanboy if you like.. I just call em like I see em.

This is no surprise. Let's hope they redesign the Sentra and get it right with a nice MR20DET under the hood.

I still like Nissan and plan to get the 370z

What if Nissan made a introductory luxury sports coupe and badged it an Infiniti? Make it in the 25k - 30k range. Call it the Infiniti SX haha

Everytime I see one of these threads it's always about how some car manufacturer needs to make some car so x forum user can pick it up 3-4 years used for a good deal and make a race car out of it.

Car manufacturers arn't making used cars last I checked. So if it's not a big enough market for new car people with MONEY, then it won't ever make it to the used market.

Nissan basically said making a new 240sx would be like making a car targeted for the homeless that costs 30k.

1) the S15 is a chassis that was engineered in the 1980s. have you driven a 350z/370z/G35/G37??? go test drive one and then youll understand the difference in 30 years of chassis engineering.

2) the s15 wouldnt pass current day safety or emission regulations (or come ANYWHERE near them). cars from the 1980s and 1990s are like driving in beer cans compared to the current day safety tanks we call cars. ive seen pics of crashed GTRs that hit walls doing 90+mph. the only thing totalled was the front end. not even the windshield broke.

3) the s15 WOULDNT SELL!!! kids, please understand that the S chassis is a niche car (there i said it). sorry but its the truth. the AVERAGE car buyer who goes to a dealership to pick up a car doesnt look for turbo or rear wheel drive or coupes. they go looking for "green", they look for gas milage, they look for horrendous warranties so they never have to pay out of pocket for shit that wouldnt go wrong with the car in the first place but theyre too ignorant to know any different. nissan isnt going to bring out a new car, let alone, bring back an OLD CAR just to sell a few thousand of a year for 20 grand. theyre going to bring out a new maxima, or suv, or altima or any other general people mover that is going to sell in the hundreds of thousands a year.

4) people dont want simple. people want LUXURY. you can thank BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Cadillac for completely RUINING the idea of a "simple" car. cars today have so many microprocessors and electronic components in them to make them drive, handle, brake, turn and use gas better its astounding. people want their asses heated by heated seats. they want GPS navigation. they want satellite radio. they want a HUD to tell them the MPG theyre getting so they can brag to their middle age friends about how they got 42mpg on the freeway. they want ipod connetivity. they want bluetooth. gone are the days of having a simple HVAC unit, easily replaceable stereo, hydraulic power steering or even a direct wire throttle body. cars will NEVER be simple again. and thats because people dont want them that way. they want an entertainment unit on wheels that doesnt give ANY road feedback whatsoever.

guys, the S chassis more than likely isnt going to come back anytime soon im sorry to say. unless toyota starts moving FT86's in 2011 like crazy, dont count on nissan budging on their stance. before the economy tanked, YES THE CAR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REDONE. but with current economic times, recall scares and people wanting nothing but hybrids, sports cars are going to way of the dinosaur. especially the traditional japanese turbo coupes we all love and cherish.

s15 silvia = a burried and forgotten corpse in the current day automotive world

hell i bought my hatchback with the idea of restoring it and keeping it clean. the ONLY track use this car will see is on a track with nothing but cones. i see too many kids beating the crap out of their 240s now and it makes me sad. the 240 has turned into a disposable drift car. hell its turned into the damned honda civic.

keep your 240 in good shape. it has become a collectors item kids.

As far as the fanboy statement goes? It just amazes me how this is a Nissan forum created by people that like and love Nissan's.

A forum about Nissan's were you would think people would be proud of their cars.

Instead you have a bunch of trolls like you and the Honda boys who come here and the minute you profess love of Nissan call you a fanboy or even a douche.

Fuck that shit, THIS IS ZILVIA! Its a forum about and for Nissan's!! Of course I like Nissan's I have owned and driven many over the years. That does not fall into the definition of fanboy it falls into the definition of enthusiast and lover.

Oh and quite a few are bandwagon kids who will only a Nissan for a couple of years because they bought it to be cool and drift.

Oh and I do like a lot of other cars but you know what? This is a Nissan forum. Not a FD forum. Not a Ferrari forum. Not a C6 Vette forum.

We talk about Nissan and own Nissan's . HMMMMM some of you guys just don't understand that concept.

To many of you fucks fall back on the fanboy statement these days when you don't like what your hearing.

4) people dont want simple. people want LUXURY. you can thank BMW, Mercedes, Lexus and Cadillac for completely RUINING the idea of a "simple" car. cars today have so many microprocessors and electronic components in them to make them drive, handle, brake, turn and use gas better its astounding. people want their asses heated by heated seats. they want GPS navigation. they want satellite radio. they want a HUD to tell them the MPG theyre getting so they can brag to their middle age friends about how they got 42mpg on the freeway. they want ipod connetivity. they want bluetooth. gone are the days of having a simple HVAC unit, easily replaceable stereo, hydraulic power steering or even a direct wire throttle body. cars will NEVER be simple again. and thats because people dont want them that way. they want an entertainment unit on wheels that doesnt give ANY road feedback whatsoever.

guys, the S chassis more than likely isnt going to come back anytime soon im sorry to say. unless toyota starts moving FT86's in 2011 like crazy, dont count on nissan budging on their stance. before the economy tanked, YES THE CAR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REDONE. but with current economic times, recall scares and people wanting nothing but hybrids, sports cars are going to way of the dinosaur. especially the traditional japanese turbo coupes we all love and cherish.

s15 silvia = a burried and forgotten corpse in the current day automotive world
LOL this is pretty much what I have said here in this and in other threads, so many times before.

It's funny that you finally admitted Dorki, as I know you held onto to the dream for longer than most.

No you do not get to have any sort of comeback months later.

I don't give a shit if you think I'm a douch.

You are a Nissan fanboy. In your eyes it can do no wrong and every one of its products is the best in its category for all eternity. Also this is a model specific forum so for all I care the rest of Nissan's product line could die in a fire.
