Fake vs real NARDI stress test.

I don't know if this has been posted before. The guys at Driftworks decided to do a funny test. I lol'd.
Fat guy bends fake Nardi steering wheel! - YouTube

Discuss.

EDIT: I suck at embedding the videos correctly, if someone could fix or post it right for me. Thanks.

Yup, and even after seeing this shit they STILL wont go out and buy a new Genuine wheel. They go for the look just to fit in, pretty sad actually.

driftworks made a video showing why buying fake is wrong

they sell rotas

the irony

also he is blatently putting loads of effort into fucking up the fake one, and pretending to put loads of force into trying to break the real one BLATENTLY.

fair enough buy fake buy twice but the video is just straight up annoying

the price diference is negligible anyway.

plus its something you have in your face the whole time anyway.

totally worth spending an extra 100 to not feel like a cheap pile of shit

Can't wait til the guys that bought the cheap shit come in here to defend their purchase with classic lines like "it's just a steering wheel" and "I'd rather put my money towards drifting" etc etc etc....

Yay this video confirms my belief that my momo is real. Even though it flexes just a little it never bends/gets out of shape. And it is a motherfucker to try and make it flex

Please shut the fuck up. Comparing this ebay wheel to Rotas is stupid. Yes, rota makes replica wheels, but they are pretty good quality. How do I know? Because 90% of the S-chassis community has them, and according to a recent thread, there are 91k 240's registered.

Back on topic. I saw this video a little while back. I laughed my ass off when it bent as he was sitting into the car. There should be some kind of safety law preventing people to sell this shit.

Having purchased an Ebay wheel a long time ago I can definitely vouch for the validity of the Driftworks video. They're very flexible and even more so when left in the car on a hot summer day. I purchased a Nardi Deep Corn wheel (350mm) from FRsport a while back and the thing is ridiculously rigid. It will not bend with anything short of a high speed crash.

Also, the whole Rota comparison is retarded. Although Rota is a knockoff company they still meet strict international standards when it comes to the quality of their wheels. They are decent cast wheels and are also track proven. I would never trade my VS-KF's for them but I don't blame people for purchasing them if they're on a budget.

These steering wheels are not quality controlled at all and do not meet any requirements.

The power of marketing.

People care more about the brand name then they do a about actual function or why those brands are respected in the first place.

If your two broke to buy a real Nardi, just get a Grant not some ebay Chinese shit.

Rota's may be imitations, but they are not "counterfeits" people in the import community need to begin to get a better understanding of these terms.

"inexpensive", "Knock-Off", "Counterfeit" and "Clone".

that's exactly what i though.

he actually puts a decent amount of force into trying to damage the wheel, but it's next to none.

fake or not, ass you see in that video, it still holds up. that one wheel the in the OP's video was probably messed with.

edit: lol. from that guys accent, he's definitely chinese. he's probably a big producer of those wheels. lolol

No, it wont hold up. The load applied to the wheel in that video dosn't replicate 90% of the forces on the wheel when its bolted to a hub and actually in use. Totally useless testing. Plus the wheel is clearly bent after hes done, and that's the wheels strongest points hes using.
