well, the KA was always fun with the right setup. You could always step on the gas, and it will spin tires. No top end at all. But because I wanted to look cool and drive hard, 18's aren't practical on 140whp. KA's are perfect with a 16 inch rim and 205 50's. Sr's can spin anything depending on boost.

I've always wanted a coupe with a kouki s14 front end on it. I finally found a good deal, sold the zenki, and picked up a sr'd coupe. Sr's are really fun if you drive them hard. People complain about boost on these motors, but I find the challenge a lot more fun since I'm not in FD competing with 900hp NA motors. You just need to learn to compensate.

My setup depending on if I go 5 lug or not will probably be 17x10s with either 225s or 215s lol. I guess I'll be running a ton of tire pressure if that happens. Like I said earlier though I plan on getting an SR sometime while I'm out here in Texas. And ya I know what you mean, I'll always think drivers who run smaller displacement/boosted setups are the best drivers regardless of what the points or judges say.

i run 17x10 215/40 35psi rear tires on a stock ka. the pressure probably gets to around 42psi max, on a hot day. you just need a good clutch that'll grab on the kicks and let the car have it.

The only problem i have most of the time is my fronts being shitty, yokohoma s.drives aren't that great imo

hahaha yeah stock ka's are evil motors, the fight they put up against grip is so fun though, you gotta drive super aggressive hah

My clutch is about dead right now haha, over summer I'm gonna try to do wheels, a bucket seat, and a stage 2 but it all depends on whether or not I'm employed over break.. Anyways, what effect do front tires have on a drift. I know it sounds stupid but do good tires cause the car to slide more evenly, or does it make the rear tend to rotate around the front, making it easier to spin... If that question makes any sense haha.

Bee I just did the same thing but I went from a KA to a build sr. I just got to drift my old zenki again God I miss the lower end response.

Yep, that's why I prefer KA-Turbo over SR...and the reason I went with a LS1 swap over building the SR I already had.

Thanks for the tire suggestions....but as far as I could find Sunny/Lexani/Wanli don't make 255/40/17s, they all go up to like a 235/50/17 which is retarded. Federal seems to be my cheapest bet, I guess I'll have to see how fast they burn up.

they make Nexen 3000's in a 255 35 18 for about 100 bucks (i know you run 17's). They are so far the longest lasting tire i've ran.

my KA would kill 2-3 sets of tires at balcony (falkens/federals)...but I drive harder than most.

Nexens usually last me all day, but hard to find in the right size.

Clutch kick more. How much psi are you running in rear?

You have an SR now? I never knew.
Change your final drive.

Yeah I got a month ago.. I really haven't drift a lot with it yet needs a better tune and stuff it was setup more for power. It was tuned with water/meth kit and not it doesn't have it so also I changed the cams already from hks step 2 to 1.

I want to but I want my MPG. I'm going to do something about the gearing later.
