so there is smoke coming up from unknown wires above the fuse box in my s14. The smoke is coming out on the far left of the dash where it meets the windshield inside the car. If anyone here is local in sandiego and knows how to pull the dash so we can figure out which wire is shorting i would appreciate it greatly and pay u for the help. When this started happening the sterio was making a strange whiney noise when i gassed...and it was very staticy. I disconected the stereo wire from the battery, but the smoke is still coming out. please help.

Removing the dash is only time consuming.

Remove all the panels.

Unbolt the steering column.

Remove the bolts holding the dash; sides, by the windeshield, behind the radio, etc.

I hope you find the problem.
