Nice job as always! I see you went all the way down to the frame rail. Did you put sheet on both sides like the factory or just one piece on the engine side? Or did you just use slightly thicker material? I need to take my tubs all the way down to the rail when i do mine so was just wondering how you did it.

Option 4: Th400 or 4L80E Race prepped transmission with manual valve bodies, and proper stall converter.
Paddle shifter and call it a day. sounds like the best bang for buck to me with the power number requirement to match. |

Wheel Tubs are ready for some paint. A little wet sanding throughout the engine bay and I am good to go for paint in about one week. I also have to do body caulk between the core support and the tubs, although wleded in, I made it possible to replace the core support by using a drill and a grinder to remove it. The body caulk will help keep crap and wet shit out of there.
Originally I was going to 70mm - 80mm transition/joiner pipes welded into the new sheet metal for the intercooler piping on the hot side to connect to, but I discovered that the size is a little too much and would interfere with the frame rail, so Now I am going to either make a 70mm oval slot or two 80mm holes, just haven't decided yet, but then again, I don't need to any time soon. I used black paintable body caulk to seal up all of the seams inside of the wheel well, next I will hit it up with some undercoating and call it finished under there. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Great job on the tubs! After just doing this myself, I can say that yours are probably the perfect size. Bondo helps with the look soooooo much.

YEah it has been a while, but it takes time to sock away the money for all of these nice parts too. Should only be another year or so. Chasis is done after the engine bay paint, but then I have to come up with cash for EMS, Seats, Mission, Proper Rear end and some pipes along wiht all of the little shit that is going to come up. Would be alot closer in the next 2 months but paying for shipping is going to cost some dough. |

Just read the thread from front to back (1-1.5 hours
![]() My Dad served in Okinawa. If my memory serves me right, he was 1st Marines, 1st Med Battalion, Motor T. Pencil pusher pretty much.. I can't really find much to say about the build that anyone else hasn't already said. Everything on the car has been given care and thought. It truly is an original work of art and like everyone else, I can't wait to see the finished product. BTW, I live in MS so if you ever have an itch to visit south MS in the finished product, I'd be your personal slave. ![]() |
